Thank you for a Decade and a list of our links now at Alternative Armies

The merger of 15mmcouk back into its originator parent Alternative Armies is complete meaning that our cart is closed and all of our products are now on their new pages on the much larger Alternative Armies website.  While we are all part of the same small and friendly company those of us who ran 15mmcouk, not least of whom is Gavin Syme (GBS) who had the idea for a dedicated 15mm site in 2004 would like to thank you all for a great decade.

A decade that saw us become a leader in the booming expansion of 15mm scale tabletop gaming along with bringing a number of great game titles to market such as USEME and to restore Laserburn to its rightful classic status.  Thousands of miniatures across Historical, Fantasy and Science Fiction lines usable with any 15mm game system and we think now four times larger than its beginning size.

This is our final blog article and all of the 15mm scale news will now be delivered on the Alternative Armies network of email, social media and its BLOG which you should now follow if you liked what we did and will do.  If you visit the Alternative Armies website you will be prompted to join the Mailchimp email list which we would like you to do since we will continue to have 15mm releases across many ranges such as HOT, HOF, Altuos and more.  Our own mailing list for 15mmcouk will slow and cease.

So as well as saying farewell this article is here to give you a list of all the of new sections of the Alternative Armies website which were our 15mm ranges.  Click on each of them to visit them from here.  A handy list indeed:

Thank you for all your custom and your interest and friendships.
Our email address sales@15mm.co.uk will remain active if you have questions.

Otherwise see you over at Alternative Armies for a ruddy good future of releases and tabletop fun!

Abominable Weather a free Scenario for USEME

Hello USEME fans!

The festive range is back online until early January and that means a new USEME scenario adding to the stable of the Terminus Arc, Branch Face and Cold Thing.  We present the third themed winter scenario.

Abominable Weather -  A scenario for two players or solo play.  Can a back up team of Malamut Mercenaries make it across the snow plain to the Hegemony Station following their buddies while a group of invincible bobble hat sporting Snow Monsters try to eat them?

CLICK HERE to download the scenario from our dropbox account for free as a PDF to your computer or device.  Its easy and great fun and will only need a handful of miniatures some dice and about half an hour of your time.  Excellent!

You can find the festive range on our Deals and Offers page until early January 2016.  You can find the whole USEME System on its own page.  We used UM001 USEME 15mm Science Fiction for this scenario.  You can also find it as a paid for download on our blog HERE for 5.00USD.

Merry Christmas!

Draw made for Field of Waterloo book winner announced

Our promotions across Alternative Armies and 15mm.co.uk to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Waterloo are now over. I would like to thank all of you who placed orders for Flintloque and Slaughterloo codes and Brickdust codes as well. We wore out three sets of molds of the 59010 Slaughterloo Monument and we made many thousands of 15mm Napoleonic miniatures too. Packages are winging round the world and the last of the orders from the promotional period will be coming out next week at this time due to the order volume. In the meantime...do you remember that for extra fun I was going to hold a random draw to win one of my own books?

Well the draw has now occurred! Here to remind you was what I said back a few weeks ago:

I have a copy of 'The Field of Waterloo' by Paul Davies published by Pan in 1970 to go along with the Waterloo movie starring Rod Steiger and Christopher Plummer; one of my favourite films of all time. Its worth about 10.00GBP and its in good condition and while it contains nothing unique it is rather rare as it was a promotional paperback. I am going to randomly draw an order number from all qualifying orders placed between 15th and 29th June on Alternative Armies and 15mm.co.uk and then mail the book to the winner! A qualifying order means products from Flintloque, Slaughterloo on Alternative Armies and the Brickdust 15mm Napoleonic range on 15mm.co.uk of any value. The draw will be blind from a hat and the winner announced. I wanted to mark this anniversary in my own way and to make it a bit more fun.

A winner has been drawn! The winner will get the book in the mail most likely by the end of the week along with a short note. I have also emailed the winner to let them know their luck.

Our winner is a fine lady in the UK named Katie Lucas! Well done Katie!

Bring on July!

Thanks for Reading.

Customers Excellent Service from 15mm.co.uk

A quick and short post across our three blogs today.  Alternative Armies, 15mm.co.uk and The Ion Age are all part of one company of which I am the creative manager.  Its a varied job with a lot of responsibility in many areas.  On top of the office work and the creation of wargames and content as well as design briefs for new miniatures I also oversee the websites and the photography and product construction too.  Finally as part of my role I speak to customers and to wargamers.

I do this often outside of normal working hours and at weekends too.  In fact I take such great pride in my role and the company that I answer every single message and email sent to us or to me.  Every order passes through my hands at least once and all questions are addressed by myself.

Over on The Miniatures Page the level of service we offer has been raised by several customers and I wanted to provide a link to the page.  Its not about blowing our own trumpet but rather after a simply awesome month of April it cheered me greatly to see this thread.  Thank you to all who choose to spend their hard earned money with us on products thought up, designed and manufactured from here in the UK.

Thanks for your time.

Results of the 15mm Monster Survey

A couple of weeks ago we carried out a huge survey of our whole email database asking just what wargamers who are fans of 15mm Fantasy would like to see next in our HOT 15mm Fantasy Range in terms of new Monsters.  We had a really good level of response and I took pride in personally answering every single person who took the time to reply to the survey.  So thank you again and if you got a reply from me that did not make total sense I apologise but I did my very best to address all points raised.  Suggestions totalled more than two hundred different creatures, behemoths and monsters and it was quite a task to collate and then rank the replies.  While many of these got one or two votes only some got a couple of dozen and then a few got several hundred and one...well one was near a thousand votes.

So what were the winners?  Here they are in no particular order beginning with the top four which we will now promise to design and release this year and then the top four runners up which we may also design and release this year:

Monster Survey Winners
  • The Cockatrice (Engish Medieval Monster)
  • The Ghoul Dragon (A Gaunt and Fearsome Monster)
  • The Lammasu (Sumerian Monster)
  • Giant Scorpions (Behemoth Arachnids)

Monster Survey Runner Up's
  • Ogres (Brutish Pair of Monsters)
  • The Djinn (A Magical Creature)
  • Cyclopes (Single Eyed Staulkers)
  • Giant Carrion Bird (Ally of the Undead)

Expect more news on the 15mm Fantasy front soon and also about these monsters.  What was evident from the survey was the amount of love out there for not only 15mm.co.uk but also for this scale and genre.  Well we will not let you all down.  The monsters are coming!

Galactic Knights to be expanded in 2015!

“The Senate must be protected from the psychic assaults of the Utlragaranians or its crystal walls will crumble and the galaxy will be exposed to the mind tearing death of civilisation. A duty of rescue falls to the Galactic Knights who with their swords drawn and cloaks aflutter in the starry breeze do the bidding of the forces of well meaning. Riding among the flow of space these warriors of truth and virtue will lay waste to the planets of the evil ones. Glittering beams and shining blades against tentacles and teeth amid a landscape of lava and blackened skies.”

Back in the middle of November 2014 I put up a blog post announcing that 15mm.co.uk was very near to the five hundred packs sold that would lead to the expansion of HOF105 Galactic Knights by another two or so pack codes in 2015.  If you missed this posting CLICK HERE to read it before continuing. Got it?  Good.  The response to the possible expansion was really nice with a lot of comments, emails and messages coming back to us with suggestions and other ideas based on the list of possible packs I had outlined from customers and gamers who had already been in touch.  The goal of five hundred packs was passed and so we move onto the expansion.

So what was the winning suggestion?  Well it turned out that the logic in the initial post was pretty much spot on with the most requested codes being a command pack with four poses and a support pack with four poses allowing the creation of a whole force or platoon of Galactic Knights.  Coming in behind those two was a light vehicle such as a bike and also the creation of characters to lead a force.  Running a long way behind were a dozen asks for a pack of 'Ultragaranians' the enemy of the Galactic Knights which is interesting as I have no idea who or what they are!

We have therefore committed to two more HOF pack codes for the Galactic Knights with a total of eight new poses from Command and Support.

A few of the suggestions were a little outlandish to be sure.  These included a comic book series, a video segment and a series of 54mm scale miniatures along with t-shirts and also some 'suggestive drawings' based on the female knight in the existing artwork.  None of these were ever going to happen to be honest but we might do a t-shirt in the future as a limited run.  You never know.

There will be news on this blog once the miniatures are made.  This will be in the first quarter of 2015.  2015...the far future...is now.

Merry Christmas!

Human Colonial Army coming soon for Alien Squad Leader 2.0

It is the year 2100 and the Resource Wars are in full swing on Earth.  Nations feud to take what they can from a dying world that is all out of succour for her greedy children.  The richer power blocks have established small colonies on Mars and on the Moon in partial terraforming and in dome.  While the use of nuclear and chem-bio weapons is outlawed it is more out of fear than respect of life.  War is everywhere and the battle lines are in field and city both.   Before the strife reached its highest levels and regression began a dozen settlement ships were flung into the void in the 2080's founding Human possessions in nearby star systems. Those worlds are protected by the strained Colonial Defence Force against threat both of Earth origin and from among the stars themselves.

You might remember my musings about a brand new 100 point pre-packed army for Alien Squad Leader 2.0 back when we released the fantastic HOF27 Maginot Defence Turret and HOF28 Charger APC codes. Well the time for that release is fast approaching and its time for me to show you the composition of the 100 point army pack which will come with all the needed miniatures and all needed element bases (the great new resin cartouche bases put out a few weeks back) in a box with insert.  While the Maginot and the Charger have done really well on their own its is in this army that they come into their prime.  Read on:

HOF28 Charger APC with one of its three included turret options
HOF27 Maginot Turret with one of its two included weapon options

ASL02 Human Colonial Army (Security Force Alpha) 100 Points
Alien Squad Leader 2.0 Army Pack (Unpainted / Painted and Based)

Colonial Army Veterans* (Regular Infantry)  HOF95, HOF98 (5) 7 Points *Command Stand

Colonial Troopers (Inferior Infantry) HOF96 (5)  5 Points
Colonial Troopers (Inferior Infantry) HOF96 (5)  5 Points
Colonial Troopers (Inferior Infantry) HOF97 (5)  5 Points
Colonial Troopers (Inferior Infantry) HOF97 (5)  5 Points
Colonial Troopers (Inferior Infantry) HOF97 (5)  5 Points
Colonial Troopers (Heavy Weapons) HOF100 (5)  5 Points
Colonial Troopers (Heavy Weapons) HOF100 (5)  5 Points
Support Droids (Robotic Infantry) HOF43 (5)  11 Points
Maginot Turret HOF27 10 Points
Maginot Turret HOF27 10 Points
Charger APC HOF28 10 Points
Charger APC HOF28 10 Points

HOF104 SFA Elite Troopers
This army pack consists of the following items:

45 Human Infantry
5 Robotic Infantry
2 Vehicle Kits
2 Defence Turret Kits
Bases: Fourteen (12 50mm x 50mm, 2 50mm x 100mm)

You can learn all about Human Colonial Armies in ASQL on pages 42-42 of the Alien Squad Leader rulebook.  These armies of this template type are characterised by their called up lower quality infantry defending their homeworld with the help of good defensive fire power and towers too.  One of the favourite templates for beginner players from our feedback and one to use against experienced players too.  This new army pack will get you into the game and playing plus it will save you 10% off list prices and the same if you choose to buy it pro-painted and based from 15mm.co.uk ready to play out of the box.

UM005 USEME American Civil War - Out of Stock

In a surprise turn of events 15mm.co.uk had a big run on printed USEME titles and also Downloads of USEME as well over the last twenty four hours.  Not that we are complaining but it has totally finished our stock of the printed booklet for UM005 USEME American Civil War and as a result this product has been removed from our website.

The paid for download version is still online and we are considering a new print run in a week or so.  If you wish to register your interest in USEME American Civil War or anything else USEME related please send us an email to sales@15mm.co.uk and we will let you know when its back in stock.

With the completion of my tripartite year long process of building and moving forward the websites for 15mm.co.uk, Alternative Armies and The Ion Age I should have more time for more titles in the USEME series in the near future.  Certainly Bob McAlister's USEME Prohibition Gangsters is nearly ready.

15mm.co.uk now on The Miniatures Page

We are now a paid banner advertiser on The Miniatures Page.  It took a bit longer than I would have liked but then you cannot complain eh.  This means that all of our releases and our special offers will be linked up from this blog to TMP from now on with smaller news items still here and possibly on the forums of TMP as well.  See our banner page HERE.

The Miniatures Page is without a doubt the biggest wargaming portal in the known universe (perhaps the Grey Alien's have one bigger but I can't get the address for it!) and every day it supplies news and opinion on every genre of wargaming and beyond.  I enjoy reading it and commenting every now and again across the week.

Our first news article just happened to be the HOF28 Charger APC vehicle kit release.  Here is a screen grab of it today.

Top News Article on Sat 3rd May 2014
Now I am off to work on something for 15mm Fantasy and also for Alien Squad Leader too.  Since its the weekend I save the pure gaming theory tasks for these times.  The Most Fun!  Blog posts to follow next week.

Thanks Everyone Salute Season is now over!

What we began the day with and ended it with
Its been a month of real fun and extreme activity for Alternative Armies, 15mm.co.uk and The Ion Age with promotions, new releases and special rates all leading up to the mighty Salute 2014 wargame show in London at the weekend there.  The Salute Season is now over.

We are getting back to normal now and while it will take us a few days I wanted to thank everyone who ordered across our websites, those who gave us kind words and those who took the time to speak to us at the show.  It means a lot and its my one time a year to meet customers face to face and to chat to fans and followers.  I had more than one hundred conversations on Saturday on subjects from Flintloque to Patrol Angis, from USEME Prohibition Gangsters to Age of Might and Steel and Alien Squad Leader too.  I got to meet others in the industry and what fine hard working fellows they all are each with a firing imagination and a love for miniatures and wargaming.

Alternative Armies decided to host The Ion Age on the trade stand this year and it got great feedback with dozens of new customers and admiring comments too.  Next time we may do something different but being such a diverse company there are many possibilities and there is a lot of time until the next show.  We gave out near the two hundred free IMP08 Muster Girl miniatures we took with us (one with every purchase just like online) and Malig Madness was fully sold out along with the new HOF28 Charger APC kit which is out this week on the website.

What will be the theme of next year's Salute show?  No one knows at this point.  No one knows anything about the future of Salute at this moment but for Alternative Armies it will be another month of fun around and at the show you can be assured of that!

Thanks Everyone here's to 2015!

Salute 2014 Season for 15mm.co.uk..offers and releases

Its that time of year again and 15mm.co.uk is making its annual convention series of offers!  We will be attending Salute 2014 at Excel in London on Saturday the 12th of April 2014 as part of Alternative Armies trade stand.  Alternative Armies trade stand is TF07 and our theme this year is 'The Ion Age - 15mm Science Fiction'.  Our sister websites Alternative Armies and The Ion Age also have promotions running and are on our trade stand.

The Ion Age theme means that we will not be bringing any of our other ranges this year, that means no Flintloque and Slaughterloo or High Fantasy from Alternative Armies. No 15mm Fantasy or 15mm Historicals or Science Fiction (but the latest HOF 15mm Science Fiction will be there) from 15mm.co.uk. The products at stand TF07 on the day  will be entirely 15mm Ion Age range (miniatures, resin, terrain and books).

Code is: salute01

To that end we are offering a code to get 15% off any and all online orders with us valid until Monday 14th April 2014.  This offer is open to all customers across the world. If you are not attending then use it! If you are attending then use it!  As before we have the option to 'collect at salute' if you are attending which will save you the postage charge too.  If you choose to collect in person then, regardless if its from Alternative Armies or 15mm.co.uk or The Ion Age your package will be waiting for you with your name on it at Stand TF07, ask for it by name.

Use the code 'salute01' as it appears here during the checkout process on page two of the process (that is after you enter your payment details) on same page page as your postage choice in the  DISCOUNT box and your product total will automatically reduce 15% on screen.  Choose Collect at Salute if you are coming on the day and save the postage too.   Attending or Not Attending use The Code!  Go along to our other websites where they are offering 15% off all orders and collection on the day too.  You can learn more about promo codes on this page of our website.

We have a number of releases coming up during the promotion period up to 14th April.  We are always fair to our customers so here is a listing of those release so that you may time your orders if you wish to wait until a particular release is made:

USEME Series back online with PDF Versions!

The migration period of 15mm.co.uk is now complete as the collection of all the USEME Series of titles as paid for downloads has moved over onto this very blog.  That's right you can purchase any of the current twelve (with three more in the works) USEME titles as printed books on the website or on this blog as purpose designed PDF's.  Purpose designed and only 5.00USD by paypal direct from the link with the whale (to our online partner Oronjo) with instant pay and download.

I take a lot of pride in these downloaded versions of the printed books as I have said before.  Some companies just convert and publish from print but not us, no.  I took the time and our PDF folders contain a fully linked up, laid out version taken from print but also a separate 'ease print' version with all images removed if you are short on home ink.  Plus separate colour covers.  Suits all comers this way. So far we have sold more than a thousand USEME downloads and I hope to see many more.  Excellent value and excellent feedback too from wargamers.

Here is the current list of the print and download titles for USEME.

UM001 15mm Science Fiction
UM002 15mm High Fantasy
UM003 World War Two (15mm and 20mm)
UM004 Modern Warfare (15mm and 20mm)
UM005 15mm American Civil War
UM006 Starship Battles
UM007 15mm Post Apocalypse
UM008 15mm Wild West
UM009 Zombie Dawn
UM010 Support Pack
UM011 15mm Cyberpunk
UM013 Eldritch Horror

Something for a great many different wargamers here and all of them using a couple of D6 and taking only minutes to learn.

Thanks for Reading.

The new 15mm.co.uk website is now here!

15mm.co.uk is back!

On Tuesday we told you all that our new website was ready and we were migrating to it...well the process is now complete and we are back!  We would like to invite you all to come along to the brand new 15mm.co.uk website.  Its shiny and we think its great.  We have new features on this website including a standard discount for buying three packs or ten miniatures of the same at the same time plus an 'in range' search function which allows you to navigate and see only what you want.  For example in the HOF 15mm Sci-fi page you can look at the menu and choose only to see 'Security Force Alpha' or only 'Humans'.  We now offer the choice of having a website account or puchasing as a guest.  Our postage terms have change to a flat rate of 5.00GBP per order worldwide or if the order is 75.00GBP or more then postage is free worldwide.  We are offering 10% off every new code we release for its first new week too.  Browse and have a lot.

We would like to offer you all a code for 10% off your orders from the 23rd February to 27th February as a little incentive to come on by.

The code is 'newsite' which you enter during the checkout process in the discount box.  Go to our postage and discount page for full information.

We know you have been waiting a little longer than you wanted but 15mm.co.uk wanted to come back online with a bang and so read on below all about the Alien Squad Leader 2.0 book being back in stock as of now!  We also have new HOF Codes released for Security Force Alpha as we build towards our brand new ASQL 100 point Human Colonial Army box!
So please do pay us a visit and if you see anything along the thousands of products that tickles your fancy use the 'newsite' code by the 27th.

Thanks for Reading!
