HOF Fire-Team is an original dynamic tactical game with a setting from ultra modern to the far future. Fire Team pits squads of soldiers, guerrillas, police, and thieves or just about anyone else with a grudge against one another. Use miniatures from your existing collection, on single bases, or add any new ones of your choice. Players command a number of Teams. These being Fire Teams, Support Teams, Command Teams and trusting to sound small unit tactics and the luck of the dice they attempt to carry out their mission objectives. HOF Fire-Team is played on 'Battle Boards' de-marked into a 20mm squared grid. These set squares allow for easy and instant measurement of game distances for movement and weapons fire along with the relation between every miniature in play and possible cover. Play is easy and lethal. Using a unique D6 mechanic based on the Firefight 2.0 engine combined with an innovative 'tech level' for all troops and the 'waypoint' mission driver this game promises fast and intense action in a compact playing area. Play in a place of your choosing even if it is too small for other ‘open terrain’ wargames. Play a game of HOF Fire-Team with three fire teams a side (a total of 24 miniatures) in less than fifteen minutes!

If you are keen on learning more from four years ago there are reviews and interviews online for the book which are still perfectly valid. You can see a video review by the Voodoo Ork HERE and an in depth look HERE over at Dropship Horizon blog. I must point out that these pre-date by a year the new website www.theionage.com formerly of the HOF range. A google search will highlight more reviews and such for you.

15mm.co.uk has a vast array of 15mm science fiction miniatures which you can use for HOF Fire Team. These include the huge HOF 15mm Science Fiction range which has Humans, Aliens, Robots and way more in it plus the Laserburn classic range and the Asgard range too. Click through to see each of these. Above is the Cultist Holy Guard.

HOF 15mm Grey Alien Flying Saucer now in resin!

One of the most popular parts of the wide scoped and large HOF 15mm science fiction range (which has over one hundred different packs) are the Grey Aliens.  Sculpted by Mark Ricketts they have been a favourite with Alien Squad Leader Players using the Alien Greys list and wargamers over all over the world using lots of different rule systems.  This week we have replaced the original white metal 15mm scale HOF50 Grey Alien Flying Saucer with an identical re-mastered resin vehicle.  It is the same saucer and includes a separate dome which can be put on or left off to expose the detailed cockpit with pilot. It also comes with a flying base. Priced at 4.00GBP it has not increased in price and it is also part of the Value pack which offers a saving for a whole character driven invasion force. Go HERE.

Grey Aliens are an enigmatic race of small, bulbous-headed, and highly intelligent aliens, the Greys are primarily scientists rather than soldiers, but sometimes come into conflict with other races when competing for resources, or when seeking to establish possession of a particular site for temporary and mysterious purposes. Their unauthorised experimental activities on live subjects who have usually been abducted can also provoke a hostile military response from races who have been subjected to such intrusions.

Indeed, the Greys appear to regard the rest of the universe like thier own enormous laboratory. Greys are not physically suited to combat situations, and their scientists in particular have an aversion to shedding the blood of living creatures, and so tend to prefer non-violent ways of defeating thier enemies, or to turning thier enemy’s weapons against themselves. Naturally, the more warlike races despise this reluctance to cause casualties as a sign of weakness, but the Greys have been reluctantly forced to train combat teams and actual soldiers as their ability to evade detection appears to have declined in recent decades. A Grey stands at approximately four feet in height and has light grey skin with black almond eyes and favours uniform suits of a silver and blue colour.

We have five codes including a value pack with saving at the present moment for the Grey Alien part of the HOF Range.  Seek them by the code below or click HERE.  We also have images of each code.

HOF47 Grey Alien Command (10 miniatures)

HOF48 Grey Alien Science Team (10 miniatures)

HOF49 Grey Alien Soldiers (10 miniatures)

HOF50 Grey Alien Flying Saucer (1 Resin Kit)

HOF51 Grey Alien Landing Party (12 miniatures, 1 Saucer Kit) Value Pack

ASQL2.0 Alien Squad Leader back in stock next week!

Over the last year Alternative Armies and by extension its sister brands 15mm.co.uk and The Ion Age have seen a surge in the sales of printed books across our ranges. This is great news and was rather unexpected. As a result we sold out of several titles and had to set a schedule for re-prints and bringing in new stock. We have nearly completed this project and now it is the turn of Alien Squad Leader ASQL2.0 by Alex Self to be brought back into print. In agreement with Mr Self we will be keeping ASQL2.0 in print only and not as a PDF or download title. It will remain at its current price (12.00GBP) with no increase and it will be remain a high quality perfect bound book made right here in Scotland.

You can visit the ASQL page of our website HERE.

Alien Squad Leader is a unique system. It really is. Unlike other 15mm scale science fiction systems it is totally and I mean totally generic with army templates for anything from Human Colonial to Mechanoids, Hive Mind, Alien Greys, Outlaw Gangs and more! Element Based it can use any miniatures and be tailored to your own universe. Read about it and order once back in stock.

ASQL2.0 will be back in stock on our website on Wednesday 11th 2015 and we will make an announcement then.

HOF Alien Greys by Zrune Lord

Zrune Lord's Grey Army!

I got an email at 15mm.co.uk from a charming fellow by the name of Angelo who goes by the name of Zrune Lord online.  He has a great blog called 'Picts from the Front' on which he continues his adventures in 15mm and 28mm science fiction wargaming and terrain building.  I had a look around and its a fine blog to read with a lot on it.

He wanted to show me his love for our HOF 15mm Grey Aliens which are one of the highest selling lines we have and I liked his work so much I wanted to share it with you all.

Scratch Built Mecha with officer from HOF49

Grey Warhost is the name of the blog post and follow the link to read it in full.  It features a lot of images like the ones used here but also some humour and scratch built mecha and terrain.  Nice work!

Death to all Humans indeed!

HOF49 Grey Alien Soldiers

Secondly and in reference to this offer on Grey Aliens.  Are there any packs or poses you would like to see us sculpt to add to these fellows in the HOF Range?  A new and bigger flying saucer?  More Automated Servants?  More Combat Poses?  Paralysis Rays?  Comedy Greys?  We have some suggestions and ideas but I would love to hear from you by email or in blog comments.  Thanks.
