The Prang by Space Jacker and Sam Croes

The Prang are some of the most popular miniatures in the SHM Range at 15mm.co.uk.  Sculpted by Eli Arndt (he of Loud Ninja Games fame) they are aliens of impressive stature suitable for any aliens inclusive space opera setting.  This popularity has seen the Prang get to almost every corner of the world from Brazil to Poland, Canada and Australia too and pictures of them appearing on the web.

Last week a favourite painter of 15mm science fiction miniatures from many manufacturers and sellers put up his own vision of the Prang.  This fellow was Spacejacker a chap who has featured here before with his impressive painting.  As it turned out his vision of the Prang was greatly different to that of Sam Croes (lead designer at The Ion Age) who painted up our own Prang on the website.  This was brought to my attention by a couple of emails asking if I had seen the difference.  That is the central message of this post...to show you these visions.

There is a massive difference in the interpretation of the Prang between these two excellent miniature painters.  Spacejacker goes for a blue skin tone combined with a light into white armour built up from grey tones and lighted up with red lines and circles.  Sam Croes went for an orange skin tone and various shades of brown finished with gun metal and off white details.  These are the same miniatures but they look so different.  Well done to both of them!

I am always happy to get pictures from our customers showing them using our miniatures, our rule systems and so on before, during and after wargames.  It kind of closes the loop as it were and we like to look at the images and see how people across the world have chosen to paint and base up the miniatures we sent to them.

A very good long standing customer of 15mm.co.uk from the United States of America sent us a host of images of some of his 15mm fantasy armies.  I asked his permission to share and Mr Rodney Strong agreed.  My thanks to him.  The images are a few select ones showing our own miniatures among those of other makers and also the whole of each army too.

Corporate Ashigaru are Coming!

Later this month 15mm.co.uk will be releasing several new packs of miniatures into the HOF Range of 15mm scale science fiction. Following up on our first stage of the the warriors of the apocalypse we will be presenting the first stage of the whole Corporate Ashigaru range for use with Alien Squad Leader, UM011 USEME Cyberpunk and any other scale appropriate wargame rules system.

What are the Corporate Ashigaru? They are a feature of a lovingly imagined alternate future army list. They are the first stage. The world diverged and the Mega Corporations took over from governments. There is nothing beyond their power as they war with each other secretly and not so secretly. Corporate Ashigaru are the foot soldiers of that most powerful hub of the Corporations Neo-Tokyo. Bonded for life to their suited masters the Ashigaru make the will of the shogun of the board a reality. A unique looking force that speaks of a time when Japan really seemed like it would take over the world and cyborgs had circuit boards.

On the 18^th of September 2014 there will be the following releases. These will be as packs and also with the options of three packs with a saving of 10% off list and single miniature purchase from pack codes.

Skeleton Staff

The Summer has been really busy for us.  None of us got any time off or a break.  So before there is a spark of mutiny we will be going quiet for a little while.  Hopefully catch the last of the good weather.  From the 4th to the 11th of September we will not be releasing any new products and aside from vital email and communications we will be silent online.  There is nothing amiss but in these days of hi-tech living we try to speak every day and since we will be all going our separate ways this will not be possible.  

The normal Goblin staff will be replaced with a temporary 'Skeleton Staff'.  Listen for the rattle of bones!

Continue to send in your emails and comments, orders and questions as normal and they will be attended to in a week or so.  While I cannot speak for the others and what they will be up to I myself will be using the time for a bit of a jaunt about and also to do some fine calibration of some wargame rules I am working on.

As a little hint for what will be happening from the 12th onwards across ...here we go!
